Matsue Castle in Shimane Prefecture has an original keep that is designated a National Treasure.
History
Horio Yoshiharu built the castle in the early 17th century, and the Matsudaira family later ruled the domain. The keep dates from the Edo period and is one of the few surviving original keeps.
